I’m originally from Cincinnati, and I’ve lived in Houston since 1984. I’ve worked in property management for over 25 years, across multiple asset types – multifamily, industrial, retail and office. What drew you to Belvoir? Matthew Goldsby, for one thing! His passion, drive and enthusiasm for this company are really inspiring to see. He’s a big selling point for working at Belvoir! I also knew that I wanted to have a more personal experience at a growing company, and Belvoir is the perfect place to fulfill that goal. What is your favorite aspect of being a senior property manager at Belvoir? We’re growing fast, and it’s really exciting to be a part of it. I’m looking forward to what’s to come for Belvoir. It’s an exciting prospect to grow this business alongside Matthew. What is the most challenging part of your job? Right now, my biggest challenge is trying to get up to speed with a new company. I joined Belvoir two months ago, so I’m learning a lot about the company and trying to take it all in. As far as property management, it involves a lot of problem-solving — people don’t often call their property manager with good news. But I enjoy that aspect of the job and it’s something I’m prepared for, so it’s not too much of a challenge for me! What qualities and skills do you use most on the job? Organization is key when you’re a property manager. This business is dynamic, fast-paced and ever-changing, so it helps to stay on top of things. Especially now, during this unprecedented time of COVID-19, our tenants are in such a different place, so keeping up our communication with them is vital. We want our tenants to be successful, and we strive to be a resource for them and emphasize our partnership with them, as well as paying careful attention to the emotional aspects of this situation. What are you passionate about? I love spending time with family and traveling. My husband has a large family, and they all live in the Houston area, so we like to spend time with them when we can. We also love traveling and taking random road trips together — some of our favorite places we’ve been are Tahoe, Paris, San Francisco and the Great Smoky Mountains.
