| What did you do before joining the Belvoir team? I’m currently a student at the University of Arkansas studying Human Resources with a minor in Information Systems. I have plans to graduate early this coming December, so before joining Belvoir I was a full-time student with more than a full course load every semester. I chose HR because I love working with people, and I know I want to be involved in the business world. What drew you to Belvoir? While I am studying HR, I’ve recently become more interested in real estate and I’m in the process of getting my real estate license. I heard about this internship opportunity from a friend, and once I learned some more about Belvoir, I decided to apply because I felt like it would be a great opportunity for me to grow my potential real estate career. What is your favorite aspect of being a summer intern at Belvoir? I had an amazing mentor. I worked with Sean Harman, and he always dedicated a lot of time to explain what I was doing and why I was doing it. He was a great teacher and taught me a lot about what goes into being successful in the commercial real estate industry. The work I was doing always had meaning behind it. What is the most challenging part of your job? While I was interested in real estate before joining Belvoir, I didn’t have a lot of experience in commercial real estate, so it was a bit of a learning curve when I started. But the team at Belvoir always took the time to help me and teach me new things, so it wasn’t as much of a challenge as I thought it would be. What did you learn over the course of the summer while working for Belvoir? I was constantly learning new things, and Sean dedicated a lot of time to teaching me and helping me learn. I learned a lot about all the processes that go into being successful in commercial real estate, from how to locate and contact prospects to filling out contracts and closing the deal. What are you passionate about? I’m very interested in health and fitness because growing up my mom always instilled healthy habits in me. Whenever I have free time, I love working out and staying active. I also love going hiking and doing things outdoors with my friends. |
