| What drew you to Belvoir — and what’s kept you with the company? I’ve been with Belvoir for about two and a half years now, and I really appreciate the company’s management style. We have great leadership with my boss, Matthew. It’s a great company with loyal people. What is the most rewarding part of your job? I really enjoy the competition aspect of my work and the thrill of success that comes along with it. You’re working with owners and investors. Negotiating, using strategy and thinking through tactical advantages is something I really like. What projects have kept you busy with Belvoir lately? In 2020, Belvoir closed more deals than any brokerage firm in Baytown. We’re one of the most successful industrial brokerages in the industrial sector in particular. In fact, we opened a new Baytown office in March of this year. So, getting in and getting settled has been pretty exciting. How will the Baytown office fit into what Belvoir does? The new office really puts us right in the middle of a major hub for petrochemical companies, manufacturing and industrial development. I do most of my business around Baytown and La Porte, and the area is experiencing a tremendous amount of growth. It’s great to be in the heart of that development. What impact did COVID-19 have on setting down Belvoir roots in Baytown? We were opening up right when COVID-19 really took hold around here, so it definitely has impacted things. We’re a member of the Baytown Chamber of Commerce, for instance, and usually we would have had our ribbon cutting ceremony by now. We wanted to hold off until we wouldn’t have to be in masks for photos, and to where having an event like that might be a bit safer. But we are looking forward to being active with the chamber and in the community. Outside of work, do you have any hobbies? I enjoy hunting and fishing — really, anything outdoors. I also like spending time with my family. My wife, Kayla, and I have two daughters. Ava is 11 and Hadlee is 4. We also have a baby boy on the way, due on Thanksgiving Day. |
