Tell us about your path to Belvoir.
Out of college I worked at an Oklahoma City high school — first as a football coach, and later as athletic director. After that, I worked on the football staff at Texas Tech University. I eventually decided to get back to my Midland, Texas, roots and take on business development work in oil and gas. That's what I've been up to for the past four years, and I enjoyed it. But when I met Matthew Goldsby, I fell in love with Belvoir's vision of the business. I saw Belvoir as an opportunity to take what I loved about my past roles and find some synergy here. I've been here for about a month now. It's a younger company with a lot of younger people, and everyone brings ideas to the table. This is a great environment.
What's something you think people should know about the industry?
I've always enjoyed building relationships with people. I loved it with coaching, and I think it's part of the reason working in sales was such a good fit for me. In real estate, too, those relationships are important. By offering quality service, you're building trust and developing relationships that will hopefully turn into repeat business transactions that benefit both the client and the company.
What do you do in your spare time?
Coaching was a big part of my life for a long time, and I still follow a ton of sports. My wife and I are also both relatively athletic and love getting outdoors, whether it be in Colorado on mountain bikes or out on the trails here in Houston.
